Decorating

Started to do a bit of decorating in the lounge. Peeled all the wallpaper off the lounge walls. Amazing the diference without the black wallpaper. We will have to put backing paper up before we paint the walls are in a mess, lots of holes, small to large and the surface is really horrible. Painting the walls daffodile white as the room needs something light as it is north facing and with the small windows gets only a little light. The hall we are painting tomorrow and it will be white. Have to scrape off the black paint on the heaters. Who in their right mind paints heaters black? Plus they used ordinary paint. Idiots. Next week we start on the kitchen, which has grey walls.
I am potting a few plants to brighten up the backyard. Redd is enjoying haveing a large back and front yard to romp in. He has also made doggy friends. Gets on okay with the neighbours three dogs. There is a hole in the fence right at the bottom of the garden which we had not notice and all the dogs were runing from one garden to the other, having a great time.

The other morning I took Redd out for a walk along the main road and the damned staffie came racing across the road and attacked Redd again. Frightened the life out of me as I did not think he would cross the road. His owner came out shortly after. I told him to keep his damned his dog under control and he had a go at me telling me to 'f' off and who did I think I was talking to. Redd is not the only dog it has attacked and it has bitten people too. Yet no one has gone to the police, now if it bite me I would go to the police. I suppose we are all reluctant to have the dog put down. What to do? I go that way to the local shop and the dog is not always out. Will just have to keep an eye out for it.

Moved

We had been on the waiting list for a place in Lanarkshire, I thought it would take years and I would probable be back in Australia before a place came up but no last week in January a place became available and we took it because Tom wanted out of Garelochhead and now we are in a much smaller place, gawd we had to get rid of so much to fit in this flat. An ugly area, a real step down. Some mean people but some real nice people, so usual mix. But the area ugh. The flat needs every room to be redecorated. I mean, grey walls and black wallpaper! Maybe they were depressed.
At least there are shops close by and the heating bill has been halfed. Strathclyde Park is nearby, a great place to take Redd.
Poor Redd got attacked by a staffie last weekend, the thing was mental, it's owner came out and kicked it away but he never said sorry for his dogs' behaviour. Redd lost a bit of fur, luckily he has his thick winter coat. Redd was on a lead when this staffie launched at him, Tom was doing his best to shoo the dog away. Afterwards he said he should have let Redd off the lead but I don't know about that. Redd on the lead, other dog not, we were not in the wrong.

It would be nice to live in a place I really liked.
